The Ultimate Reset – Halfway Report

It’s 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday. I’ve already showered, brushed my teeth, had my supplements (waiting the half hour to be able to eat breakfast), and started a load of laundry. Today is day 13 of the Ultimate Reset. I’ve only got today, tomorrow, and one more full week remaining on the Reset.

I will say the really great thing about the meal plan and scheduling is that you’re able to use any meal for any other meal within the phase, or week, you’re currently participating in. I was missing one major ingredient for a dish the other night, so I went to the store to get it. They didn’t have it, and I didn’t feel like driving all around town to find a store that did. Never mind the fact that I was already pretty hungry as it was. Oh, and the family had pizza for dinner. That had shown up right as I was leaving, so I’m already pretty hungry by this point. So I opted for a dinner that I knew I had all the ingredients for and I had really enjoyed the meal anyway.

Back to this 8 a.m. thing. You realize that since I’ve already completed all this stuff, that means I’ve been up a little while already, right? 7:15 to be exact. I got up to go to the bathroom and thought, “ok good, I’m still tired, I can go back to sleep.” I’m amazed at how rested I feel when I wake up each morning, and that’s from day 2! I did have a couple days near the beginning where I was struggling throughout the day and really wanted a nap. That’s to be expected, the program tells you that. Since about day 4, though, I wake up and I’m raring to go. The last several days, I’ve even woken up before my alarm goes off and I think it’s my old way of thinking that has my mind programmed to think “ok, just 15 more minutes.” It doesn’t happen that way anymore. If I’m up, I’m up, and that’s all there is to it. I’m amazed at how rested I feel and how much energy I really have.

It’s because of that, I’m anxious to get started on week 3. I’m anxious to really start feeling the need and desire to just go, go, go! I’ve already started experiencing it – here and there, small instances – but I’m beginning to get anxious to workout again.

I ordered 3 new pairs of glasses this past week. It’s been over 4 years since I updated my prescription, and I was long overdue. Especially, when my wife showed me something on her laptop from the other end of the couch and I had trouble reading what was on the screen. Those glasses can’t get here soon enough.

Those in the Beachbody community know that Les Mills’ Combat just released this past week. That won’t be in till next week as well.

So a quick recap: I’m anxious to do week 3 and get back to working out, I’m anxious for my glasses to arrive, and I’m anxious for Combat to arrive. You can bet on day 1 after the Reset is over, I’ll be jumping out in my garage and doing some sort of workout. They say you’re supposed to take it easy. I guess I can’t jump into Asylum, and I certainly bet I can’t jump into Combat either, since I’m sure it’s pretty strenuous and designed for weight loss and shedding inches. They say all that, I just hope I’m able to stick to it. I’m really anxious to get back on track with working out, namely after the results I’m seeing from the Ultimate Reset.

Speaking of which, I’m not going to give out any final numbers until I’m completely done, but I’m going to give you some insightful info (hopefully, I’ve already done that somewhat with my ranting of how much energy I have). As I mentioned, I have a lot more energy, I’m sleeping better, and I feel more rested when I wake up in the morning. My skin also appears a little smoother, but the biggest thing for me so far is this. I wear shorts almost year round (my wife was surprised last week to see that I wore jeans to our town’s Christmas Parade). I have one pair that was so tight just one month ago, that I definitely didn’t have a need for a belt with that pair of shorts. I wore those same shorts this week and, at the end of the day, I was able to slide them off without even having to undo the button. I had to undo the belt, of course, and they didn’t just fall down, but to me, that’s a testament of how many inches I’ve lost already.

As I said, I’m not giving out any numbers just yet, but there’s just a little teaser about what I’m experiencing while going through Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset 21 day program. If you’re interested in seeing what it can do for you, send me a message. Oh, by the way, it’s on sale for $30 off between now and 12/16/12. If you want to just sign up for your free account (or club membership with a 10% discount on top of your purchase(s), click here to do that and shop to your heart’s content. Either way, I do advise signing up for the HD package (Home Direct). Even if you opt not to continue with your maintenance kit after the program, it’ll at least save you the cost of shipping and you can cancel at anytime. I also have a challenge group on Facebook, so if you’re interested in joining that for a little added support, we’d love to have you join us!
